Kumiko was born March 21st and dreamed of becoming a fashion designer since she was a child. As a teenager, she fell in love with the world of Lolita. In 1999 she graduated from Bunka Women's University and started her own brand. In 2000, Kumiko was recruited by BABY as a designer of dresses, purses and umbrellas. Her masterpiece dresses include the "Elizabeth", the "Cinderella" and the "Yukinonamidahime". In 2009, she was recognized and invited as the designer of BABY to the Japan Pop Cultural Festival.

We’re looking for volunteers to model your lovely faces and lovely dresses in the Lolita Fashion Show for Innocente Seraphim (August 8-9, 2009). Full details below:

When: Sunday August 9, 2009 12 noon – 1pm

What: A fashion show highlighting the various styles found in Lolita fashion, focussing on displaying and educating those interested in Lolita. Models needed for well known styles like, sweet, classic, gothic, kuro/shiro, aristocrat, kodona as well as niche styles like pirate, steampunk, decora, country, etc.

Who: Your fabulous self dressed in one or more of your own outfits. (Unfortunately, hair and make up will NOT be provided.)

How: Please fill out the form accessible from the link below with as much detail as possible, and submit it asap to contact@innocenteseraphim.com, Subject line: InnoSera Lolita Fashion Show.

Additional Details: Communication will be done via email for the most part until the con starts, so please don’t forget to enter your contact information. Kissing Violet is Elia Saldaña and David Vaughn. Elia Saldaña sings lead vocals and David Vaughn is the keyboard player, main lyricist and producer. They’ll perform a live concert at Innocente Seraphim on Friday, August 7, in the Grand Ballroom at the Westin Bellevue. Attendees of InnoSera will have a ticket to the concert as part of their attendee package if they pre-register for the convention before July 18, 2009.

Both David and Elia love to perform on stage. They are joined by several talented musicians when they play in concert. Kissing Violet features a signature melded keyboard and guitar combination, coupled with beautifully distinctive vocal character and melody. The band takes various instruments, moods and sounds into the vision for each of their songs. Critics call their music beautiful edgy pop, with a very sharp edge.

In 2008, that sharp edge was featured when TokyoPop chose Kissing Violet’s song “Feel the Disease” as the opening for TokyoPop’s new imanga Bizenghast. Mel is a costumer extraordinaire and pattern drafting master. You may have seen her panels and costumes at Sakura-Con, Norwescon, Kumoricon and Aki-con. She'll be bringing her pattern drafting supplies to help you with fit, form, and fashion! Mel is an avid BJD collector and is working on using her skills for clothing and sewing for BJD's. Cheryl has been teaching sewing for 20 years and has her own line of awesome purse patterns. She is an expert in sewing techniques and in helping to adapt patterns to create the look you want. She has also created a series of classes just for us at Quiltworks Northwest in Bellevue. The classes will cover skirts, blouses, jumpers/dresses, jewelry and accessories. She'll tell us more at our meeting. =)

Don't want to sew? Come and just hang out with lolita fashion and BJD fans! The UHCC is a gorgeous place to take photos of your BJD's and your lolita outfits.
